Hands up all who would like a speed up in ALL their applications that call the standard trig functions in the PPC math libraries. All of you? Great! The trig functions in this file* are about 10x faster than the ones in MathLib. The great thing is that any app that calls these functions will automatically see some benefit- just drop the MathLibFast shared library into the extensions folder (no need to reboot). To slow your apps down again, just remove MathLibFast. The CFM searchs first in the application directory , then in extensions so you could use this conditionally with particular apps.
Hopefully Apple will soon release a new Mathlib that is more impressive than the current effort!
